جلالة الملك يشدد على أن الأوضاع الخطيرة في قطاع غزة، لا يمكن السكوت عليها والقبول بها

طالب جلالة الملك عبدالله الثاني في اجتماع مع أمين عام الأمم المتحدة بان كي مون في قصر الحسينية، بوقف فوري للعدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة والذي يستهدف المدنيين الأبرياء ويعمق من معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق، محذرا جلالته من تداعيات العدوان الكارثية على المنطقة.
** جلالة الملك لفت إلى الجهود والمساعي الحثيثة التي يبذلها الأردن مع كل الأطراف والجهات المعنية عربيا وإقليميا ودوليا، ومن خلال عضويته في مجلس الأمن الدولي واتصالاته المكثفة مع الدول الأعضاء في المجلس لتبني مشروع قرار يدعو إلى وقف فوري لإطلاق النار في قطاع غزة، مؤكدا جلالته، في ذات الوقت، دعم الأردن للمبادرة المصرية للتوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار وبأسرع وقت ممكن، وضرورة حشد التأييد الدولي لها.
** جلالته عبر عن إدانته الشديدة للعدوان الإسرائيلي، وحث المجتمع الدولي على تحمل مسؤولياته لحماية الشعب الفلسطيني، وتقديم المساعدات الطبية والإنسانية العاجلة إلى أبناء قطاع غزة وإغاثتهم، ودعم جهود الأردن في تسهيل وصول العون الطبي والإنساني ومعالجة الجرحى والمصابين.
** شدد جلالته على أن الأوضاع الخطيرة في قطاع غزة، التي لا يمكن السكوت عليها والقبول بها، تؤكد مركزية القضية الفلسطينية، وأن بقاءها دون حل عادل ودائم وشامل يلبي تطلعات الشعب الفلسطيني، وحقه في إقامة دولته المستقلة وفق حل الدولتين، ونيل حريته واستقلاله، سيقلل من فرص تحقيق السلام، ويزيد من حالة اليأس والإحباط، وعدم الاستقرار والاضطراب في المنطقة برمتها.
** وأكد جلالته أن التطورات والتصعيد الراهن في قطاع غزة لا يبرر بأي شكل من الأشكال الإجراءات والسياسات الإسرائيلية الأحادية في الأراضي الفلسطينية المحتلة، وخصوصا في مدينة القدس الشرقية، وتحديدا في المسجد الأقصى المبارك والمناطق المحيطة به.
** أكد جلالته أن الأردن يقف بكل إمكاناته وطاقاته إلى جانب الشعب الفلسطيني الشقيق، وسيواصل تقديم كل أشكال الدعم له، وتوفير خدمات الإغاثة الطبية والإنسانية لأبناء قطاع غزة بما يمكنهم من مواجهة الظروف الصعبة والقاسية التي يمرون بها جراء استمرار العدوان الإسرائيلي.
** تطرق الاجتماع كذلك إلى الأوضاع في المنطقة بشكل عام والتحديات التي تواجهها، خصوصا ما يتصل منها بالأزمة السورية والوضع في العراق.
His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that the dangerous situation in the Gaza Strip is unacceptable and intolerable
His Majesty King Abdullah II demanded during his meeting with United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, at Al Husseiniyeh Palace, an immediate halt to Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, which is targeting innocent civilians and increasing the suffering of the Palestinian people, warning of the disastrous consequences resulting from this dreadful aggression on the region.
His Majesty pointed out the tireless efforts exerted by Jordan with all concerned bodies regionally and internationally, and through Jordan’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council as well as its constant contacts with the Member States of the Council to adopt a draft resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, affirming, at the same time, Jordan's support of the Egyptian initiative to reach a cease-fire as soon as possible while highlighting the need to secure international support for it.
His Majesty expressed his strong condemnation of the Israeli aggression, and urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility to protect the Palestinian people, and to urgently provide medical and humanitarian assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip, as well as support Jordan's efforts in facilitating the provision of medical and humanitarian assistance and treating the injured.
His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that the dangerous situation in the Gaza Strip is unacceptable and intolerable, and reaffirmed the importance and centrality of the Palestinian cause. His Majesty emphasized that continuing without a fair, permanent and comprehensive solution that meets the aspirations of the Palestinian people and their right to establish their independent state according to the two-state solution, and attaining their freedom and independence, will reduce the chances of achieving peace, and will add to the despair, frustration, instability and turmoil in the whole region.
His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that the current developments and escalations in the Strip do not justify in any way the unilateral Israeli policies and measures in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, especially in East Jerusalem, particularly Al Aqsa Mosque and its environ.
His Majesty King Abdullah II stressed that Jordan stands with the Palestinian people with all its capabilities and potential, and will continue to provide all forms of support to them,including continuing to deliver the medical and humanitarian relief for the people of Gaza.
The meeting also discussed the situation in the region and the challenges that the region faces particularly those related to the Syrian crisis and the situation in Iraq.
